President of Haskell University leaves after two years on job

Haskell Indian Nations University, a tribal college in Kansas, is once again in need of a leader.

Chris Redman, a member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma, resigned unexpectedly in May. He had been on the job for just under two years.

Prior to Redman's tenure, the post had been vacant for more than a year. Linda Sue Warner, a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma, had been on detail before she eventually resigned.

Michael Lewis, a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, is now acting as president. He said the position likely won't be filled for another six months.

“The president of Haskell is facing, you know, some challenges,” Lewis told The Lawrence Journal-World.
