University urges students not to dress 'Indian' this Halloween

The University of Colorado Boulder is urging students not to play "Indian" this Halloween.

The goal of the "We're a culture, not a costume" poster campaign is to stop negative stereotypes of ethnic, religious and other groups. The school has seen an increase in minority student enrollment.

"It's really a campaign to raise awareness and to create a better sense of community for all of our students and how to have a respectful and inclusive community for all students here at CU," Randy McCrillis, the director of the Center for Multicultural Affairs, told The Boulder Daily Camera.
