DC Council to take up resolution against Washington mascot

The D.C Council will take up a resolution that calls on the Washington professional football team to change its racist mascot.

The Sense of the Council to Rename the Washington National Football League Team Resolution is expected to pass next Tuesday. Most council members want to see the name go.

"The owner of the Washington NFL team is hereby urged to change the name of the football team to a name that is not offensive to Native Americans or any other ethnic group," the resolution states.
