Indian artifacts at popular beach in New York date to 8000 BC

Archaeologists in New York announced the discovery of hundreds of Indian artifacts dating back 10,000 years.

Arrowheads, tools and weapons were excavated at a site near the popular Million Dollar Beach on Lake George. Some of the items were made of stone that's only found hundreds of miles away.

“That's remarkable. It not only tells you that there were people here, they came through every year, they were nomadic, but they came here, they walked here from hundreds of miles away. So people have literally been coming here to Lake George for over 8,000 years,” Mark Schaming, the director of the New York State Museum, said at a press conference, YNN reported.

They artifacts were found during preliminary work for a $3 million improvement project at the beach.
