President Obama hosts tribal leaders ahead of conference

President Barack Obama met with a small group of leaders today ahead of the annual White House Tribal Nations Conference.

The meeting took place at the Roosevelt Room in the White House before noon, according to the president's schedule. A list of tribal leaders who attended was not released but it's likely that representatives came from the 12 regions of Indian Country.

Tomorrow's conference will be held at the main Interior Department building in Washington, D.C. tomorrow. It's the first since Interior Secretary Sally Jewell joined the Obama administration.

Jewell is expected to open the conference. Obama is expected to deliver remarks in the afternoon.

11:30AM - 1:15PM Break Out Sessions/Lunch (Closed Press)
