Herman Honanie wins election as new chairman of Hopi Tribe

Voters of the Hopi Tribe of Arizona elected a new chairman and vice chairman on Wednesday.

Herman Honanie, the current vice chairman, won the chairman's post, according to the unofficial results. He defeated Todd Honyaoma, a former vice chairman, with 58 percent of the vote.

Alfred Lomahquahu won the vice chairman's spot. He and Honanie will take office in December.
