The Fort William First Nation of Ontario is warning people to stay away from Mount McKay, which lies within the borders of the reserve.

The mountain is normally closed for the winter. That didn't stop a man from getting stranded there for eight hours over the weekend.

“It is pretty dangerous. It's icy. There's really no need to be up there," Chief Georjann Morriseau told CBC News.

The band might put up "No Trespassing" signs around the mountain, Morriseau said.
