Producer of genetic testing kit won't provide health information

The maker of a genetic testing kit will stop providing health-related information to consumers in response to a warning from the Food and Drug Administration.

23andMe will continue to provide a genetic analysis to users of the product. The company says it can detail a person's Native American and other ancestry.

The FDA issued a warning letter two weeks ago that said the company shouldn't offer information about risks for certain diseases and conditions.
