The Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma is looking to open its first compressed natural gas station.

A gallon of CNG typically costs less than gasoline or diesel. The fuel also emits fewer pollutants into the environment.

"You look at the oil industry and the gas industry, that's part of the Indian people's culture, here in Oklahoma especially, so I think we're kind of going back to what's been part of our culture as to use the natural resources that are available to us," Chief George Tiger told News on 6.

The tribe is working on a deal with the city of Mannford to share revenues from the CNG station.
