Senate Indian Affairs Committee sets hearing on law and order

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee will hold a hearing next week to discuss a report from the Indian Law and Order Commission.

The commission studied the justice system in Indian Country as part of the Tribal Law and Order Act in 2010. The group's report calls for tribes to exercise full authority over non-Indians and for Alaska tribes to exercise jurisdiction over their own lands.

The hearing will take place at 2:30pm on Wednesday, February 12.
