Washburn signs reservation proclamation for Muckleshoot Tribe

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has issued a reservation proclamation for the Muckleshoot Tribe of Washington.

Assistant Secretary Kevin Washburn, the head of the BIA, added about 20 acres to the reservation. A notice was published in today's issue of the Federal Register.

"The land was proclaimed to be an addition to and part of the Reservation of the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe for the exclusive use of Indians on that reservation who are entitled to reside at the reservation by enrollment or tribal membership," Washburn said in the notice, which he signed on February 24.
