Four leaders of a district on the Tohono O'odham Nation of Arizona were removed from office after being accused of theft.

Christina Andrews was removed as chair of the Hia-Ced District, which represents the Hia C-eḍ O'odham. The group was incorporated into the Tohono O'odham Nation last year.

The Tohono O'odham Nation Legislative Council said Andrews and three other leaders were guilty of stealing money. Andrews denied the accusations and said she wasn't sure if she was going to be arrested or charged with a crime in tribal court.

Voters in the district will elect new leaders on Saturday.
