Students from a public school on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Montana participated in a talent show at the White House on Tuesday.

The seventh- and eighth-graders from Lame Deer Junior High are part of the Morning Star Marimba Band. They performed a marimba and drum piece for First Lady Michelle Obama as part of the Turnaround Arts program.

Lame Deer was one of eight schools that participated in the first round of the program, whose goal is to improve student achievement and participation through the arts.
