Indigenous activists in traditional headdresses clashed with police and military forces in a protest over their land rights.

One police officer was reportedly shot in the leg with an arrow during the protest in Brasilia, the nation's capital. Security forces fired tear gas at the indigenous activists, who were also joined by anti-World Cup demonstrators.

The Indian protesters are fighting legislation that could reduce the size of some reserves.
