Public school allows Indian graduates to wear eagle feathers

A public high school in California allowed Indian graduates to wear eagle feathers on their caps after facing pressure from the community.
A record eight students graduated from Lemoore High School last night. Seven are members of the Tachi-Yokut Tribe.
"We're so excited about this," member Anita Baga, whose nephew was among the graduates, told The Fresno Bee. "This is not a Tachi Yokut thing; it's for all our kids."
The California Indian Legal Services, the Native American Rights Fund and the ACLU of Northern California urged the school to allow the eagle feathers.
