Sherry Cordova wins re-election as Cocopah Tribe chairwoman

The Cocopah Tribe of Arizona held an election on Friday.

Voters re-elected Sherry Cordova as chairwoman. She has held the post for 18 years, The Yuma Sun reported.

J. Deal Begay Jr. was elected vice chair. He is a newcomer to the council.

The tribe will hold an inauguration ceremony on Friday, July 25.
