Artist Gregg Deal is raising money to stage a provocative performance piece that will explore the harmful effects of Indian mascots.

The piece is titled Redskin. In it, Deal will subject himself to eight hours of public abuse -- psychological, verbal and physical -- to address the treatment of Indian people who live in the Washington, D.C., area and who deal with the NFL team's mascot.
