Three young men from the Onondaga Nation of New York are seen as strong contenders for the Tewaaraton Award, the top honor in college lacrosse.

Lyle Thompson, his brother, Miles Thompson, and their cousin, Ty Thompson, play for SUNY Albany. Since the season started last month, they have been responsible for 65 of the team’s 110 points and have scored 41 of 68 goals.

The award will be presented at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., on May 29. It's named for Tewaaraton, the Mohawk word for lacrosse.
