Mohegan Tribe to bring 16 Smashburger locations to Northeast

The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut continues to expand its economy.

The tribe announced a deal to open up to 16 Smashburger locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The chain is based in Colorado.

"We chose this brand because of its superior product offering and its reputation as one of the fastest growing and most successful franchises in the United States," Chairman Kevin Brown said in a statement.

The tribe recently purchased a wood-pellet company and entered into an agreement to open 15 Arooga's Grille House and Sports Bar restaurants in New England
