The Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma will open the doors to its new health facility next week.

The Sovereign Medical Clinic in Norman is already providing services to tribal employees. The 14,000 square-foot facility will be open to the public starting June 29, The Norman Transcript reported.

“This new clinic is important to the Chickasaw Nation as well as the surrounding community,” Gov. Bill Anoatubby said at the dedication ceremony on Wednesday, the paper reported. “It’s an exciting day because health care is one of the top priorities for our nation.”

The tribe operates another Sovereign clinic in Ada, its headquarters.
