The Colville Tribes of Washington have a new leader.

Jim Boyd was elected chairman of the business council on Thursday. He previously served as vice chair.

"I'm very honored," Boyd said yesterday, The Omak Chronicle reported.

Boyd succeeds Michael Finley, who was eliminated in a primary election. Finley was elected vice president of the National Congress of American Indians last year.
