The Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians are moving forward with development plans at a historic site in Oregon.

Tribal ancestors used to live in villages on the waterfront in what is now Coos Bay. The four-acre property, known as the Hollering Place, will be the future home of a resort hotel, restaurant, a visitor center and other facilities.

"I'm really excited that we're now moving forward on a project that could eventually bring some jobs, bring some economic development," Chairman Bob Garcia told KCBY-TV.

Details are still being ironed out but work could begin in 2016.
