The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of Montana continues to upgrade its health care facilities.

The tribe just held a grand opening for a new clinic in St. Ignatius. The $5 million project offers 37,000 square-feet for medical, dental and pharmacy services.

"The old one was built in the 1960s,” Bernie Azure, the spokesperson for the tribe's health department, told The Missoulian. “It was like a bomb shelter-civil defense thing.”

In addition to St. Ignatius, the tribe completed upgrades at its clinics in Polson and Elmo. The facilities in Ronan and Arlee are next.
