The Obama administration is signing the largest tribal trust fund settlement this week, bringing the total dollar value to $2.61 billion. The $554 million settlement with the Navajo Nation is the latest in a long line of agreements dating back to April 2012. That's when the White House announced settlements with 41 tribes for a total of $1.023 billion. The list has grown steadily since then. The settlements put an end to nearly all the tribal lawsuits that were filed prior to a statute of limitations that expired in December 2006. The Navajo Nation settlement will be signed at a press conference in Window Rock, Arizona, the tribe's capital, on Friday. Get the Story:
