The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa in Wisconsin will swear in its new leaders on Monday after a general election was held this week. Henry “Butch” St. Germaine, Sr. was elected president. He defeated Joseph G. Wildcat by a tally of 450 to 404. Mike Allen, Sr. won re-election as vice president. He defeated Melissa Christensen by a tally of 455 to 376. Germaine currently serves on the council so his win leaves a vacancy. The tribe's election board will determine how to fill the seat.
