The Tulalip Tribes of Washington will meet with a delegation from the Red Lake Nation of Minnesota today in the wake of a fatal school shooting.

The October 24 shooting occurred at the Marysville-Pilchuck High School near the reservation. Four students -- including the shooter and two girls -- died while two others remain in the hospital.

The Red Lake Nation experienced a similar tragedy in March 2005, when a school shooting on the reservation left eight people dead. Survivors will be bringing a dreamcatcher to Washington today, where they will be joined by representative from Newtown, Connecticut, the site of a school shooting in December 2012.

“These delegation members are carrying forward the tradition, kindness and caring that the Red Lake Ojibwe and the Newtown communities received when they faced their own tragedies,” the Marysville School District said in a statement, The Everett Herald reported.

Classes resume today at the Marysville-Pilchuck school.
