PINE RIDGE –– The members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe have voted despite allegations of voter fraud, intimidation, late starts at the poll and a controversial decision by newly re-elected SD Attorney General Marty Jackley. The OST council has been over hauled by the decisions made in polling places.

The three representatives for the Pine Ridge Village have unofficially been announced as Richard Greenwald, Ella “John” Carlow and Robin Tapio.

The two representatives for the Eagle Nest District have unofficially been announced as Marilyn Charging Crow and Blaine Little Thunder.

The unofficially announced representatives for the two representative seats from the Pass Creek District are James Cross and Ron Duke.

The Medicine Root District’s two council seats go to Chauncey Wilson and Austin Watkins Sr., in the unofficial count.

The Oglala District will unofficially announce Ellen Fills Pipe and Floyd Brings Plenty for their two council representative’s seats.

The two council seats for the Porcupine District, unofficially, have been called for Patrick “Pat” Ross and Philip Good Crow.

Jackie Siers and Sonia Little Hawk-Weston have been unofficially called the winners of the two Wakpamni District council seats.

The Wounded Knee District has Collins “CJ” Clifford and Michael Her Many Horses as the unofficial winners of their two council representatives.

The LaCreek District has the closest race in the General Elections with Craig Dillon showing a slight lead over Donn Fire Thunder and Charlie Cummings who are virtually tied at press time.

Official results will be covered by Native Sun News along with in-depth coverage over the allegations of voter fraud and the A.G. Jackley decision to make any votes cast after 7 p.m. deemed “provisional” and the implications that that decision carries.
