A man from Laguna Pueblo in New Mexico is accused of stealing $778,632 while he worked at one of the tribe's businesses.

Marshall Cheromiah, 30, was an assistant manager at the 66 Pit Stop. Tribal authorities say he started taking cash from an ATM machine at the business in the summer of 2013.

After an investigation, Cheromiah was arrested in October and was charged in tribal court. He could also face federal charges.

“It’s been taken obviously very hard,” Skip Sayre, chief of marketing and sales for the Laguna Development Corporation, told KRQE-TV. “It’s been difficult for both the company and the community.”
