The Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma will break ground next year on a $1.4 million cultural center.

The 7,000 square-foot facility will be located in Wyandotte. Plans call for a museum space, meeting rooms, a library, a gift shop, conference rooms, class rooms, computer research areas, a basement for archives, a multi-purpose area with seating for 150 and an outdoor plaza, The Miami News-Record reported.

"The Wyandottes were the keeper of the council fire so we're going to have an eternal flame there,” Second Chief Norman Hildebrand told the paper “The building is round with sort of a medicine wheel concept used in the design.”

The tribe is soliciting construction bids in January and hopes to have most of the work done by September 2015 in time for an annual meeting, the paper said.
