Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation inaugurates Leland Kinter as chairman

The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation of California swore in a new leader on Sunday.

Leland Kinter is serving as chairman. He succeeds Marshall McKay, who served three terms as chairman.

“My election as chairman speaks proudly to the work of the exemplary leaders who preceded me," Kinter said in a press release. "I would particularly like to thank outgoing Chairman Marshall McKay for his tireless dedication, his commitment to mentoring the Tribe’s next generation and his statesmanship that gave our Tribe a strong public voice.

Also serving on the council are Secretary James Kinter, Treasurer Anthony Roberts, Mia Durham and Matthew Lowell, Jr.
