Water conference in Arizona focuses on tribal perspectives

The University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center will host its annual conference next month on the Gila River Indian Community.

This year's conference focuses on “Indigenous Perspectives on Sustainable Water Practices." Speakers and panels will focus on tribal water rights, water management, ceremonial uses of water and traditional activities like agriculture.

The event takes place June 9-10 at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino in Chandler.
