During her speech at the SGU graduation, the Comanche grandmother of three, told students, “The world is changing rapidly… We’re taking steps by educating ourselves to change with the world… We don’t have to give up our Indian identity to get our education.”

The graduates of SGU were honored with an eagle feather for their accomplishments. Through their education and hard work, this eagle feather will be the first of many they will receive in their lives and careers.
