A Native woman whose son has been missing for more than 10 years is hoping to draw more attention to the issue.

Philip Leishman was last seen in July 2004. He's one of 35 Native men who have gone missing in the Northwest Territories since 1960.

"It's really important that we find everybody," Margaret Leishman told CBC News.

In a report last July, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the number of missing and murdered Native women is higher than previously estimated. The report, however, did not address Native men.

In the Northwest Territories, more Native men have gone missing than Native women, CBC reported. There are 8 cases of missing Native women since 1960.
