The first-ever Tribal Government E-Commerce Conference will be held next week in Arizona.

The Indian Legal Program at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University is sponsoring the event. It takes place February 12-13 on the Gila River Indian Community.

“The College of Law is thrilled to be hosting the inaugural Tribal Government E-Commerce Conference,” Dean Douglas Sylvester said in a press release. “The opportunities the Internet provides to tribes — especially those located on reservations far from large population centers — are just beginning to be fully understood, and this conference will help the community share ideas for the industry now and into the future.”

The keynote will be delivered by Gary Davis, the president and CEO of the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development.
