The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community in Michigan will help present a special program in honor of Native Americans who served in the Civil War.

The tribe's elders, veterans and drum group will take part in Remembering and Honoring the Civil War Ogichidaa at the Marquette Regional History Center. The program includes information about Company K, a regiment of sharpshooters from the Ojibwe, Odawa and Potawatomi tribes who served on behalf of the Union in the Civil War.

The event takes place on Saturday.
