The former longtime chairman of the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas is facing legal action.

The council removed Steve Cadue from office in January, accusing him of failing to address budget and revenue concerns. A complaint has now been filed in tribal court stating that the former leader was in "breach of fiduciary duty," KNZA reported.

Cadue was serving as a member of the council at the time of his removal. Prior to that, he had served as chairman several times over the last 30 years.
