RAPID CITY ––  Beginning this year, Marnie Cook (Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Member) has been named News Director of KOTA Radio 1380, a radio station in Rapid City owned and operated by Duhamel Broadcasting Enterprises.

Marnie Cook sat down with Native Sun News to discuss her position and experience in radio and travels as an “urban Indian” in America.
With office walls filled with posters of the Emancipation Proclamation, Gettysburg Address, and Freedom of the Press, their placement becomes apparent when in the company of the News Director’s free and strong personality.

Cook has over 25 years of experience in radio including in Bozeman, Mont. where she did “morning infotainment."

"Yes, I was one of them annoying radio personalities always laughing in the morning,” she said.
