LAME DEER –– If Steve Ewing, new High School Principal at Lame Deer Schools has his way, students will not feel that they “have to come to school. They will want to come to school because there will be a respectful and caring environment,” he said.

Hired by the Lame Deer Board of Trustees on Aug. 12, Ewing brings a wealth of experience and education to the post, supplemented by his life experience as a tribal member, born in Los Angeles, he has lived on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation for 35 years. Many board members felt that would enhance his ability to work with the Lame Deer student population, primarily Northern Cheyenne tribal members.
