The Comanche Nation of Oklahoma suspended its administrator without pay, The Lawton Constitution reported.

Will Owens was suspended after being accused of "gross negligence of duties," the paper said. But Chairman Wallace Coffey contends the move by the council is illegal.

Coffey has called a special meeting on October 24 to discuss the issue. He wants the general membership to decide whether Owens should be suspended.
