The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut held a swearing-in ceremony on Monday for four council members.

Incumbents Mark Brown, Thayne Hutchins Jr. and Cheryl Todd will each serve four-year terms. They are being joined by newcomer Joe Smith.

"We won’t skip a beat," Chairman Kevin Brown told The New London Day of the leadership.

The tribe's electoral process is highly secretive and the results aren't considered official until the winners are sworn in. The council has nine seats total.
