The Morongo Band of Mission Indians put the reservation on lockdown on Monday as authorities pursued an armed suspect, KESQ reports.

Tribal and local authorities were looking for someone who was wanted in connection with an assault with a deadly weapon when the lockdown occurred, according to KESQ. It's not clear if the suspect was ever caught.

Schools on the reservation were evacuated as a precaution and the lockdown was eventually lifted.
