The Forest County Potawatomi Community of Wisconsin acquired a stake in Commerce State Bank as part of its economic diversification efforts.

The bank recently raised $11 million from investors. The tribe contributed the largest portion of that amount, BizTimes reported.

"The Potawatomi will continue to look for sound investments that will benefit both the communities where we operate and the tribe," Chairman Gus Frank said in a press release.

The tribe holds a less than 10 percent stake in the bank, according to the press release.
