The Puyallup Tribe has signed a marijuana compact with the state of Washington. The tribe is the third in the state with a compact. The process was authorized by House Bill 2000, which calls for cooperation on jurisdiction, regulation and other issues. With the compact, the tribe plans to open a marijuana testing facility, The Tacoma News Tribune reported. It would be located in the same building that houses the Salish Integrative Oncology Care Center, the tribe's cancer center. “The initial version of this Compact will address only one element of the broader subject area of marijuana: the opening and operation of a testing lab by the Tribe," the agreement, a copy of which was posted by the paper, reads. The Suquamish Tribe and the Squaxin Island Tribe were the first two with marijuana compacts. Both tribes are operating retail marijuana stores. Get the Story:
