Players from the Haida Nation of British Columbia are protesting the involvement of energy corporations in the annual All Native Basketball Tournament.

More than half of the top sponsors of the tournament are liquefied natural gas companies, CBC News reported. The Skidegate Saints, the four-time men's champion team, and traditional Haida leaders are bothered by the situation due to concerns about energy development on their lands.

In response, the Saints and their supporters are wearing anti-LNG shirts and disseminating anti-LNG information even though an organizer said such activity wasn't going to be allowed inside the arena. The Hesquiaht Descendants, the 2015 women's champion team, also showed up in anti-LNG shirts.

The tournament runs through Sunday.
