Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton racked up more wins on Tuesday, solidifying their status as front-runners in he 2016 race.

Trump won Florida, Illinois and North Carolina and was locked in a tight race in Missouri with Ted Cruz, the Senator from Texas. John Kasich managed to win Ohio, where he serves as governor.

Meanwhile, Marco Rubio, dropped out after performing badly in Florida, where he serves as Senator.

According to The New York Times, Trump has 621 delegates, about half of the 1,237 needed to win the GOP nomination. Cruz is trailing with 395 delegates.

On the Democratic side, Clinton won Florida, Illinois, North Carolina and Ohio. Results from Missouri show her slightly ahead of Bernie Sanders, the Senator from Vermont.

According to the Times, Clinton has 1,094 pledged delegates compared to 774 for Sanders. The Democratic nominee needs 2,383 to secure the nomination.
