Daria E. Merwin, a doctoral student in anthropology, is seeking for proof of Indian existence off the New Jersey shore.

Merwin believes evidence of Indian life dating back 10,000 years has been submerged. Although she has yet to find concrete proof, she is the first to actually look in the Atlantic Ocean.

Any items Merwin's team uncovers will be given to the New Jersey State Museum in Trenton.
