Trial into tribe's accounting firm continues
Friday, August 15, 2003

The trial into a law firm accused of overlooking theft from the Sokaogan Ojibwe Tribe of Wisconsin heard from a state regulatory yesterday.

Linda Minash testified that the firm, Shinners, Hucovski and Co., didn't do its job. As a result, the tribe lost $1.8 million in a casino embezzlement scam.

The firm says it reported suspicious transactions to the casino manager, who was being bribed as part of the scam.
