Bill to correct boundaries of Ariz. reservation
Thursday, August 21, 2003

A bill in Congress would correct the boundaries of the Colorado River Reservation in Arizona.

The bill would add 25 square miles to the existing reservation, according to The Havasu News-Herald. The tribe has been denied the land since 1915, when the Interior Secretary and then-President Woodrow Wilson reversed an earlier decision.

Reps. Raul Grijalva, Jeff Flake, Rick Renzi, J.D. Hayworth and Ed Pastor are sponsoring the bill. It has been referred to the House Resources Committee.
