Norton to attend opening of Navajo BIA school

Secretary of Interior Gale Norton will attend the opening of a new Bureau of Indian Affairs school on the Navajo Nation today.

The BIA provided funds to build the Baca/Dlo'ay azhi Community School, in Prewitt, New Mexico, which will replace two outdated facilities. It is a K-6 school that will serve about 390 students.

Also appearing will be Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. and acting assistant secretary Aurene Martin.
