Common sense and dedication helped tribal member
Monday, July 21, 2003

As head of central services for the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana, Earl Arkinson supervises a wide range of important tribal programs.

How did he get there? Though dedication and a little common sense. "I gained respect through knowledge and hard work," he tells The Great Falls Tribune.

His advice to those just starting out is simple. "I would tell them to try 100 percent to be dedicated, loyal and honest," he says. "Hold down a job, take it seriously and don't go to work just for the pay but be dedicated to the job and earn recognition."
